Bodypaint City is located in the town Pörtschach, the most impressive location in the state surrounded by turquoise water. With great socializing possibilities and inspiration it is the perfect backdrop for the body art form. The very compact town locates all programs within just a few hundred meters.

WBF 2012 from July 2nd to 8th

The World Bodypainting Festival is the World Championship in different body art categories and the biggest event of this art form. Every year, the World Awards are held and thousands of visitors are attracted by the artwork. Artists from more than 40 nations compete for the World Champion titles in categories brush/sponge, airbrush, special effects, UV effects, facepainting and some special awards. The peninsula of Pörtschach becomes from July 2nd - 8th, 2012 "Bodypaint City", a fantastic scenery for the living artwork presented in spectacular shows. Bodypaint City has more to offer than a "Living Art Studio".

Art, music, fashion and shows are the main focus of the festival program that covers a whole week. The spectacular side event "Body.Circus – the surreal ballroom", workshops with the world's best lecturers from the industry, music highlights or outstanding fashion shows – the World Bodypainting Festival offers an amazing program for young and old, for fashion freaks and music fans, and of course for all art lovers.

Show Highlights at the WBF 2012

Bodypainting Shows

Every day on the main evenings we present you breathtaking shows of the human body combined with colours lights. The stunning night contest for UV effects is on the Friday night program. Spectacular effects are guaranteed when 15 selected artists are going to tell you a story of colours, dance and music. On Saturday the international artist group "Creachiefs" will paralyse the audience and the Sunday, the final day will be explosive.

Fashion Highlights

The cross over to styling and fashion is very close in the middle of an event that uses the body as an art object. So we have on the main days for example young labels presenting their designs in the "WBF Fashion Park", a fashion contest the "WBF couture award" or the Body Art Fashion Show to name a few highlights. Visitors can let them styled by Miss Coco and our make-up artists, at the photo tent we have amazing photographers for your final shot.

Program details

Aura Dione, Culcha Candela...

A big music line up is presented on main and side stages in "Bodypaint City" while the bodypainting artist paint their models throughout the day. Raggae, dancehall, balkan beat, pop, country as well as over 20 DJ acts at the Red Bull music tent ensure the right beat for the audience. A very special highlight is going to be the performance of fashion and pop diva Aura Dione on the final day that stands under the "avant-garde" theme.
