  • Craig Tracy, USA
"My paintings are like songs that I sing only once but that I listen to for a lifetime." Craig Tracy Craig Tracy is a master airbrush artist, painter and sometimes even finger painter. He combines his work with both the living form and traditional canvas art to create illusions in fine detail. His compositions demand a perfect placement of the body that harmonises with the natural shapes present and reflects his appreciation of human beauty. Craig Tracy became an important part of the bodypainting community when he joined the World Bodypainting Festival in 2004. He immediately found a place among an artistic circle of friends that has encouraged communication between artistic styles. He also further earned the respect of fellow artists and bodypainting appreciators by becoming world champion in the category of airbrush bodypainting. Craig helps spread understanding for the art of bodypainting to its viewers by bringing together artists with varying styles and techniques. Some of his most interesting work is in collaboration with fellow bodypainting artists. One of Craig’s greatest achievements has been the creation of the ‘Painted Alive Gallery’ in New Orleans. This is an innovation for the bodypainting world as it is a space dedicated purely to bodypainting.

  • Bella Volen, Bulgaria

Bella is one of the most inventive artists bringing together her training in colour theory, composition, and symbology with illusory light to create imaginative compositions on muscle and skin.
Bella comes from an arts family in Sofia, the capitol of Bulgaria, and was raised among painters, sculptors, dancers and poets. Bella extended her natural talent with twelve years of formal study in some of the most prestigious art institutes.Bella’s painting on canvas reflects strong architectural interests. The building of walls and structures is symbolic for order and stability in human lives. Bella takes built structures and transforms them into optical illusions with light and colour to distort the realities of what surrounds the characters in her paintings. Her work challenges the viewer to take a leap into her passionate imagination, away from stability and order.
Bella’s bodypainting work contains the same strength of visual messages as her canvas work, inviting the viewer to step out of their boundaries and think away from structured reality. She also works with UV and has won the World Champion title for her UV bodypainting.

  • Mike Shane,Luxembourg
Mike Shane’s style of bodypainting is exhilarating and potent. His creation of the ‘action painting’ style is an innovation and a breakthrough. The technique remains his alone, as he works in the ‘now’ to colour moments of space and time. His work brings together all the necessary aspects of bodypainting - painter, performer, photographer, with such clarity of vision that his artwork is unforgettable.
Mike has studied fine arts and in his performances work with athletic and balletic models whose movements are elegant and intriguing. Mike’s radical liquid splashes of colours contrast with each other on ever changing levels as he composes, changes and destroys his fluid orchestral artworks. His works also celebrate the movement of paint with gravity, how fast, where and why it will move a certain way over the shapes it reaches.
Mike has created an impressive portfolio of work for advertising and promotion. Some of these works are carried out in his action painting style but many of them show a separate angle to his work that is equally creative. Mike is able to take the logo or idea of the company he is contracted by and to design it into a bold pattern of colours that lives on the body. These bodypaintings are equally important as they show that it is possible to create a commercial bodypainting and still have an artwork as a finished product.
