The World Awards and the different categories

The Main days in the “Bodypaint City” with the world championships, the “World Bodypainting Awards”, and further special categories are from 16. – 18. July 2010.
The artists have the opportunity to show their own specialties in the different categories - bodies painted with many different materials and techniques, and sometimes combined with the most fantastic costumes, masks and show effects.

The competition categories for 2010 are
- the world champion title “World Awards”, also the “European Awards”
- the special category “Special Effects Make-Up Award” and
- the “Ameteur Award” in the category Brush and Sponge.

Registering for the Competition Categories:

Start and Finish times:

• The festival grounds open from 9.00 am.

• The artists in each category begin painting at different times.
  The “time running order” grafic sheet for artists shows the various start, finish, jury and presentation times for each category.

Running order for Jury:

• The jury area for all categories is found behind the stage in the backstage area.

• A short interpretation of the work can be made in English to the jury. You enter the judging tent in rising order of your Identification numbers (ID).

• All artists should please stay in the photo award area after the judging, to give the photographers and other visual award participants the chance to get the works of art on film. This is also necessary for the photo catalogue, which will be printed later and sent free of charge to all artists and models.

Stage presentations (Vernissage):

• The vernissage is the time when the models are presented on the main stage.
  
• The stage presentations run in the order of the artist numbers (ID).
• The earlier you registers, the earlier you will be on the stage for the presentations.
• The limit for presentations is maximum 2 minutes.
• If you have prepared a very spectacular show and the 2 minutes are not enough, please contact us to speak about it.
• The “Amateur Award” category will be presented in a flowing combined catwalk show.

After the stage presentations:

• The results are available after the presentations for each category.
• The award presentations will be after each competition. The World Award categories
• “Brush/Sponge”, “Airbrush” and “Special Effects Bodypainting” will be presented on Sunday before the fireworks.
• All artists can pick up their results and participation certificate at the artist information tent.
• Artists who do not take their participation certificate will have it posted earliest with the photo catalogue in December.

• In the running order paper “Timetable Artists” you will find the times for starting, ending, Jury and presentation for all categories.

• Every participant recieves a participation certificate.
• Every artist and model recieves the Photo catalogue with the best photos from the photo competition posted to them free of charge.

WBF Show Award

Bodypainting Model of the Year Award

The award goes to the model who expreses and presents their bodypainting most successfuly. This includes modelling over the main days, the presentations and in the photo area. The prize is given after the photo competition in November.

Further information:

• The festival grounds “Bodypaint City” are in a park, which is open to the public. For a better overview, we divide the park in 7 sectors. The tents are marked with the sector and a number.

• Access: The car park for artists is close to the festival area. In case that one is full we have a second parking place which is free of charges for the artists.
  
  Please note: the big parking place next to the festival grounds is owned by a private person who is providing for a parking ticket the space. We have no influence on that area.

• The registration desk at the festival entrance is open from Thursday 15th July from 11.00am – 7pm. The artist can pick up their badge as well as those for their model and assistant.

• If you would like to bring more friends with you we can offer the 3-day ticket at a discount price.

• Podiums, tables, benches and booths are also at the artists’ disposal.

• The tents are alocated by the organisers. If you need to share a tent for special reason with someone particular it can be arranged when possible.

• There are two artists in each tent. If you are finished and there is no one left working in the tent you can close it from all sides.

• There will be a special “photo award area” directly by the lake. We would like to ask the finished models to make their way to this area, to allow some professional photos to be taken. Each artist has access to this area with the model, and can photograph his/her models there.

• Also a trade show area for exhibitors for bodypainting colours, airbrushes, accessories, make up, decoration and much more will be available. The top brands on the market will be there where you can get all kinds of products for make-up artists. The trade show area is open from 10.30 am – 8.00 pm.

• Members of the World Bodypainting Association (W.B.P.A) get discounts from many of the companies on site so don’t forget to ask!

• It’s not allowed to sell products at the artist booths. If you want to sell posters, photos, cards etc. please write to us and ask.

• VIP Lounge Ticket:  a stylish area with a delicious buffet is open daily form 4.00 pm to 12.00 pm. For participating artists the ticket is available for € 39 inc. all drinks. Bookings are neccessary in this area as numbers are limited. The tickets will be charged together with the deposti fee.

• Full presentation on DVD with free official DVD 2010:
  "Bodypaint City TV" broadcasts every presentation. On request we can provide your full presentation of each day. Get your presentations on DVD including postage for € 39 or € 34 for WBPA members. The DVD 2010 you'll get for free. Please tell us with your registration.
  

• Aftershow Party on Sunday: After the fireworks all participants are heartly welcome to party with the festival crew and exhibitors in the main tent. Our DJ’s will play fantastic club sounds till late.
